Admission Officer reply

Received sometime ago.

"Dear Cheng,

I hope your fine. Madam my name is Ibrahim okumu, i am a Ugandan interested in pursuing doctoral studies in Economics at HKU with a bias towards macroeconomics and econometrics; my worry however is how i can successfully apply (moreso on how to get to a supervisor) and be admitted.

Attached is copy of my CV.

Regards
Ibrahim"

My reply,

"Dear Ibrahim,

I have read your CV, it looks very nice to me. I think there should be no difficulty for you to get here, but I have a question in my mind, why HKU? You have mentioned that you interested in macroeconomics and econometrics, these two fields are not particularly strong for my school. If you really want to have your PhD in HK, I adivse you apply CUHK, which best suits your field of interest.

And I think you are more experience in finding supervisor than me, as you may know, I am just an undergraduate, not even get a bachelor degree.

Regards,
Cheng"

Did I make my homepage look like an Admission Officer's?

If I really know "how to be successfully apply (moreso on how to get to a supervisor) and be admitted", I should have done it myself first, and enjoy the remaining Bachelor degree with no more worry!
